Shampoo Bowls

Posted by

In our previous blog the other day, we talked about shampoo bowl parts and the necessary steps to take to ensure replacements are ordered accurately.  While we touched briefly on the different types and materials our shampoo bowls are made of, I thought it'd be a good idea to expand that thought into more detail.  Our more affordably priced bowls are made of either a fiberglass, acrylic or injection-molded plastic.  All three types of material are, more or less, going to perform the same functionally and are equally durable.  Price points are relatively the same as well within certain brands and manufacturers, however, it can differ mostly depending upon the manufacturer and their processes.  Take, for example, Collins' CB19 plastic bowl priced at $259 or Collins CB23 plastic bowl for $289.  Both models are Collins and made with the same materials, just a different shape.  The highly-regarded, Belvedere 2100 acrylic plastic bowl priced at $458 is materially the same, made by Belvedere.  Cultured marble bowls are, materially, a step up from the above bowls.  These bowls are more heavy-duty and durable.  Coincidentally, the price point is a bit higher.  The Marble Products #100, #200, and #2000 are a few examples of these cultured marble bowls we sell.  The most durable and heavy-duty efficient shampoo bowl you can invest in is the porcelain bowls.  These are made of cast iron and finished with a sleek, porcelain enamel coat.  If properly cared for and maintained, these could easily last you 40-50 years.  The Belvedere #3800 and the Collins CB80 and CB87 are a few examples of porcelain bowls we carry.  Let us answer any questions to help you find the bowl that right for you!
